Quality and food safety
Control over food safety and quality
Meneba is certified for ISO 22000, BRC and GMP+ complying with the very strictest quality assurance and food safety standards.
ISO 22000
This Food Safety Management System guarantees that every detail important and relevant to food safety is managed correctly and demonstrably to an extremely high standard. The system embraces aspects relating to suppliers, raw materials, production processes, transport and the training levels of employees. ISO 22000 also covers HACCP (Hazard Analysis of Critical Control Points) standards, which are obligatory in Europe. In addition, all the relevant processes in the domain of director’s assessment, product development, quality inspection and customer satisfaction have been established in protocols and work instructions.
Guidelines for retail
With the BRC certificate (BRC = British Retail Consortium, Global Standard Food quality standard) Meneba complies with the guidelines laid down by the British and Dutch retail sector, one of the most strictly regulated systems in the world.
GMP +
With GMP+ 2006 (GMP = Good Manufacturing Practice, a certification scheme for the animal feed sector) Meneba guarantees the quality of the food safety of products used in animal feed.
Independent audits
All Meneba’s departments and branches are subjected to a twice-yearly inspection, which monitors the compliance of the processes, protocols and agreements with food safety and quality demands. This check is run in independent audits carried out by Lloyd’s Register. Remarks and points to be improved on - observed by the Lloyd’s auditor, by customers and based on internal audits – are systematically included in the integral quality policy.
‘Appellation d’origine controlée’
By implementing worldwide, integral quality assurance systems and tracking & tracing, products of guaranteed origin can be supplied. This opens up new perspectives for end products whereby ingredient purity, provenance or the cultivation method of the raw material plays a role. Meneba reacts to this move with innovative concepts and blends, which respond to aspects such as the growing consumer interest in and appreciation of authentic, artisan-baked breads with a specific, individual character.
