Working towards the right functionality
Cereal products are supremely suited for countless applications in the food, feed and non-food sectors. A pre-condition is naturally that they possess the required functionality for the customer, consumers or animals. This is primarily achieved by carefully selecting the best cereals and varieties. Where authenticity play a role, even factors such as the region of provenance are important.
Processing and special treatments
Based on the ultimate required functionality, the raw materials are subjected to various treatments, such as crushing, milling, micro milling and wind sieving. As one of Europe's major cereal processors, Meneba has all the special processing technology at its plants. This includes heat treatment, extrusion and Presco®. This technique – a highly efficient pressure cooking procedure – was developed by Meneba to produce easily digestible products derived from cereals, pulses or oil-containing seeds.
